First, we have the talking doll. My reason here is quite simple. Talking dolls are creepy, especially if they have those eyes that open when the dolls head is tilted. CREEPY. See, look.

Now, this doll is exceptionally creepy, because she is the star of an X-Files episode entitled Chinga, co-written by Stephen King. This doll says "I want to play" and basically makes people go insane and, well...read the summary. I really don't like to dwell on it. But, after watching that episode, dolls that talk really creep me out.
Second, we have carousels (and carnivals...particularly carnival music...the "haunting melody of the carousel...") It is all so very Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Last, that song "You Are My Sunshine." Don't go looking at me all crazy now. Somewhere in my past I distinctly remember seeing a movie where some kid was singing that song while playing in an attic and someone was sneaking up on him/her from behind. "But if you leave me...to love another...you'll regret it all some day..." *Shiver*
In summary, put a You Are My Sunshine-singing, talking-doll-holding kid on a carousel, and I am done. Add in a snake and some birds, and I will cry like a baby.
Now, I have been open and honest with you all...people I consider friends. Be nice. If I walk outside tomorrow and find a doll on my porch that says "I want to play" I am going to fire you all and get some new friends. Fair warning.

hehe. glad to help, glad to help. i never quite understood the mania surrounding ET, myself. a little creepy, what with the glowing red finger and all. ick.
It is strange how all of your phobias are related to images from television or movies.
Girl, the garage sale did you in.
Clowns. Clowns are creepy, too. Especially the ones with wicked faces. Again, this probably stems from a movie somewhere along the line.
Becky--maybe Stephen Kings movie It? That had a creepy clown.
Scott, you would think I would have learned my lesson by now and stopped watching stuff like the X-Files and scary movies, but I just continue on...making the "things that creep me out list" even longer.
I didn't see it, but I heard it was AWESOME!!! I can't wait for Wimbledon. I got my new Tennis magazine yesterday and Federer and Nadal were on the front cover for the Wimbledon preview...
