My roommate, Shannon, is a
bird enthusiast. She has bird feeders out on the patio and asks me what kinds of birds have been visiting it. She sits in wait with a camera to take pictures of the birds and look them up in a field guide to identify them. It is a hobby of hers. I recently discovered through the power of Blogger that my long-time friend Becky, (Three Men and a Lady-check out the comments section of the link) is also a bird enthusiast.
This is not something I can hold in common with these two dear friends of mine. Because birds freak me out. Anyone seen
this movie? Been following
the news lately? And, if
this can happen to Cameron Diaz, who are we to believe we aren't next? Who's heard of
Vampire Birds? I'm just sayin' they're not all cute. Keep your guard up, people.

Don't you find it a little weird that we sit right next to each other and type in comments for each other's blogs?
Lurking is being a consistent visitor to a website without commenting (I think that is the definition...it is mine, anyway!) So, de-lurking is letting the blogger know that you are a reader by leaving a comment. There is actually a National De-Lurking Week!
This year it was the week of Jan. 8. Of course, this is probably something that someone on some blog somewhere just started, and someone else thought it was a good idea, and it just spread, but the term stuck...
I like being a lurker...I lurk all the time!
