30 in 30

  1. Sang karaoke (kind of.)
  2. Played Wii.
  3. and Guitar Hero.
  4. and Dance Dance Revolution (it is beginning to sound like I am a video game junkie, but I really only played each once or twice.)
  5. Taught middle school. Briefly. Didn’t hate it.
  6. Taught pre-school. Briefly. Didn’t love it.
  7. Lived in western North Carolina.
  8. Played the slots. (I know.)
  9. Pulled a kid’s tooth. And didn’t even go unconscious afterwards.
  10. Worked retail.
  11. Was asked to marry some guy from an eastern European country in order for him to become an American citizen. Not. Even. Kidding.
  12. Vacationed on Edisto Island, which is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.
  13. Saw the Colorado Aspens in their autumn glory.
  14. Celebrated back-to-back Manning Super Bowl victories.
  15. Learned how to play both Risk and Chess. (I was taught by 3rd graders, so I am not sure if I learned the real rules.)
  16. Attended Brevard’s famous White Squirrel Festival.
  17. Saw a white squirrel.
  18. Was a band director for 1.5 days.
  19. Ate sushi. Torture.
  20. Finally got to see one of Sable and Madison’s horse shows. Quite impressive.
  21. Got over my issues with excessive hugging.
  22. Realized how awesome Dolly Parton is. (Thank you, American Idol, for Dolly Parton tribute night.)
  23. Met Amy Fisher. Not that one. But an Amy Fisher nonetheless.
  24. Saw James Taylor sing Carolina On My Mind (one of the best songs EVER) in Carolina.
  25. Killed a cat. I haven’t technically killed it. Yet. But, I have looked upon it with murderous thoughts in my heart, and it really is just a matter of time before I follow through with the deed. . . dad gum cat.
  26. Rediscovered my love of reading, used book stores, and the public library.
  27. Was taken hostage. (I was very safe the whole time, and because I don’t mind small enclosed spaces, I was quite cozy, so no worries.)
  28. Walked through snow in October (in Colorado) and April (in North Carolina.) I’ve definitely had my fill.
  29. Banged pots and pans at midnight on New Year’s. (P Family Tradition.)
  30. Realized that no matter where I am, it is where God has me for His perfect purpose, and I can rest easy knowing He is sovereign and faithful. Always.

Well said. And I'd like to state, for the record, that the cat mentioned is NOT Jay -- the most perfect noncat-cat in the whole world. ;)
