A Very Happy Birthday (Just a Smidge Late)

Yesterday was Michelle's 23rd Birthday! For those of you who are not familiar with the family tree, Michelle is my niece, my oldest brother Hal's daughter. Michelle is, among other things, the person who has the hair I am most envious of. She is also witty, smart, a capable snowboarding instructor, and can even shoot a gun just as well as I can. (I don't really know exactly what that says for either of our skills, but we can point and shoot and have access to firearms, so watch out.)

Michelle is super-psyched to have hit this milestone birthday. In her own words: "I am allowed to rent a car from all airports!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right people, ADULTHOOD is officially here!!!!!!!! There's nothing holding me back in life now!! I can fly anywhere I want to in the world, throw down the 'ol MasterCard, and drive off!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!! The world is truly at my fingertips now!!" Welcome to adulthood, Michelle. Enjoy!

dang- i'd give anything, including my taylor hicks life sized cut out, to be turning 23 this May and NOT the big 3-0. enjoy it while you can, michelle. your twenties have only just begun. i, on the otherhand, am on the way out of this delightful and decadent decade. oh, how i loved being in my twenties. the freedoms. the fun. why do i feel the need for a whiskey sour right about now? anyhoo, michelle, enjoy your b-day! may this be your best year ever, girl!! Cheers to your b-day!

Thanks, Mandy!! I've heard only good things about 23 so far, so it bettah live up to my expectations!! The guy behind us in the picture is CRACKING.ME.UP!! Dude, what's with the glasses and beanie?! Oh, and as for my hair, while the comments about it are flattering...never fails, it wages war against me every morning in front of the bathroom mirror. Most days I am victorious. Today, I was not. I just had to admit defeat, and wear a ponytail. Because nothing else was gonna look good ;)

Can't believe you were only 11 when I started dating Joe!

Save up that energy 'cause the boys will tackle you upon arrival!
