Once Upon a Time in Santa Maria

I was looking through pictures this morning and came across some from a trip I took this past spring to a village named Santa Maria.  I went with a team of four to present at a spring break camp hosted by the local church.

The four of us who went could not get over what a refreshing experience it was.  The kids that attended were so joyful, were being taught the Word in their local church, and were enthusiastic about everything!

While there, I met Sergio and Saul, twins.  Sergio is in the photo below.  They were two of the happiest kids I have ever met.  The pastor told us that they come from a very poor family, and had to find a way to pay the $4 admission fee to the camp.  So, for months before the event they cut and sold fire wood in the community to earn their money.  I pray that their joy and their desire to know Christ no matter the cost will only grow.

Also, I ate goat for the first time.  Fresh goat.  Like, I heard it bleating about 4 hours before eating it.
