It's No Mr. Holland's Opus

A few months ago, who would have thought I would be temporarily living in western North Carolina? And yet, here I am! I am spending a few months here and working at a school in Asheville as a long-term substitute (right now teaching 7th grade reading comprehension, but will move to 3rd grade for six weeks beginning March 10th.)

The school where I am teaching had Monday and Tuesday off for the end of the second trimester, and I got a call from another school on Tuesday asking me to come in for the day. To fill in for the band director. Huh. Now, those of you who know me will understand why they would want me to do this, considering my vast knowledge of all things musical. I thought I would spend the day with a VCR, popping movies in and out for the various classes. But, no. I actually taught band. Middle school band, to be exact. (Insert Tylenol here.)

I figure everyone would like to hear the blessed sounds of sixth grade band, so I recorded a segment for one and all to enjoy. You can thank me later.

To quote Gabriel, "That is terrible. For such a good girl, how can she teach a music class so bad." :)

Sounds like you are having fun in NC!

Maybe a tad better than the Rhythm Band I worked with in kindergarten.
