This past weekend was jam-packed with fall fun.
The festivities began with my nephew Gage’s 3
rd birthday party on Saturday afternoon.
Watching him open presents was the best entertainment one could ask for.
Logan commentated The Opening of the Presents by exclaiming, “He’s rippin’ into those like a crazy coyote!”

After the party, I got to see my niece, Madison, in action during her soccer game. I am so glad Madie took up soccer this year, because I never really understood the rules, but realized my need for a thorough soccer education before moving to Mexico. I am beginning to get it, and I actually really enjoy being a soccer spectator. I was also impressed and proud of Madie’s defensive skills this week. Instead of letting a kid take off with the ball, she outright tackled him. Full-force frontal collision. It was awesome.
After watching the first half of the soccer game, I headed to the fall festival at my church, where I participated in a very intense cornhole tournament. I am sad to say, I was not the winner of the championship. Didn't even make it past the quarterfinals.

This afternoon Dad and I took Logan and Gage to the Pocket Branch/Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail. We were having a nice relaxing little walk in the woods when a couple of climbers told us about a bear they had seen. From what I can gather, Logan is none to fond of the idea of coyotes or bears. His expression quickly became:

And Gage rubbed salt in the wound with his announcement of “I hear dat bear.”

I also discovered during some channel surfing that this afternoon was the Krystal Burger Eating Championship in
Chattanooga.
ESPN was gracious enough to broadcast the proceedings, and I had the joy of watching Mr. Joey Chestnut consume 103 Krystals in 8 minutes, setting a new world record.
The commentary was fantastic: “What an incredible performance . . . unbelievable ability to maintain the pace . . . what a performance by the
world’s major league eaters.”
Wow. What a way to end the weekend.

"I hear dat bear !!' what an instant classic . . . and I am sure that G-Dad had nuttin' to do with Gage eggin' on Logan about the bear
Wow. I haven't seen pics of the boys in a while I guess.
Logan looks so much like Joe.
Gage is just Amanda all over again.
Glad the "bear didn't eat dem boys."
They look sooo cute girl!!!! Eat up this time with them :)
Happy Birthday to Gage!! Great pictures! I enjoyed looking at your albun.
You are a trip watching that eating contest. If i had known it was on you know i'd be watchin' too! ;)
What I want to know, is did you stay on the trail after hearing about the bear? I'd sooo have been outta there!
We did stay a little longer, because the boys had to throw rocks in the creek. We decided the bear would go for the climbers first...the belayer has to stay put, so he makes a good target for bear dinner.
It was good to see 'ya at the partay. (Yeah, I'm about a month late with this comment...) Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
