After dropping over $100 on my dog, (worth every penny, I swear...) I knew today (and every day for the rest of this month) would be a day spent at home. For much of the day, I participated in one of my all time favorite activities-cleaning!!! I LOVE to clean.
Then, the roommate day of fun began...
First, cooking. For whatever reason, Emily decided to cook "real food." I am not sure if my body is going to reject the vitamins and minerals after a pretty steady diet of microwave popcorn, frozen taquitos, poptarts and diet coke. The jury is still out.
Second, painting. We have had four blank canvases adorning the living room for about seven months. Tonight seemed to be the perfect night to do something about that.
Artistic Geniuses at work. Note the look on Emily's face. I think she might be going crazy.
Third, Myspace stalking. I mean, spending time discovering what old acquaintances are up to these days. Riiiiiight.
Fourth, cake baking.
"It's worth every bit of salmonella that I get." -Mandy
AND LOOK AT THIS GORGEOUS CAKE. We should start a business to make money so we don't have to sit around on Saturdays cleaning, cooking, painting and stalking people on Myspace.
Finally, we heard some screaming of some sort in the neighborhood, so we decided that no night is complete without calling 911. Fortunately, if the police ever actually show up, we have cake.
Anyway, regardless of the losers we feel like we are becoming, it has been a fun day. I hope I can say the same thing around January 31.

You & Emily MUST come over. I have LOTS to get painted! I can like pay you in microwave popcorn and cake mix.
That's yet another thing I have on my to-do list is painting canvases - as in stick figure kids. I think those would be cute.
I know that has to be hard to survive on a monthly check; Joe gets paid every two weeks and that seems to take forever...I mean, how can I prolong NOT shopping?
that cake is really cool, girl. and y'all are pretty creative, i must say!!
and what a great dog owner you are.
yes, yes, i feel better already and more comforted knowing that the Sausage is going to have a great life with you and Emma. :)
That cake rocks! So, Luke and I are doing the same thing this month, only there will be less painting and more wrangling children. So if you can afford to use the gas, come on over and do nothing with us one day...you just might feel a lot better about going home to do nothing!
Our cake is ridiculously good-looking. So good-looking that I'm going to go eat a piece right now! Too bad I didn't eat one for breakfast like you did though. Now I can't blame all my mess-up's on the fact that "I had cake for breakfast." haha
I guess you two are enjoying the warm weather............not having to pay the big expensive heating bill! Your cake looks very Martha:)
I remember painting and stalking and calling 911, but not much of the baking! Hehe! I miss you!
dangerous, these two. very dangerous.
Mamdy, this has nothing to do with your post, but I just read that Rick Schroder is going to be on 24 this season, so I'm totally in!
