Week in Review

I have been really slack about updating and I know the masses are on the edge of their seats in anticipation of a post. So, I offer to you the Week in Review.

Tuesday night I taught my second Advanced ESL class. I don't have a curriculum to work from yet, and my first night with the advanced class was a bit of a surprise ("Your name is Mandy, right? Can you teach this class? Good. Enjoy.") I thought idioms might be a fun lesson. Oh, the questions! I really had to rack my brain to think of all the origins of our sayings. Some of them are easy to figure out, such as hold your horses and bury your head in the sand. But under the weather?

Speaking of under the weather, I spent the week battling the germs I picked up from the six-year-olds last week. I think I am going to win, though.

Wednesday night I went to the fair. I LOVE the fair. Like Templeton from Charlotte's Web. I love everything about it. The corndogs, the farm animals, the people. But what I most love about the fair is the four-horned sheep that was there this year. I don't have a picture, but I did google an image of one. This one isn't nearly as cute as the one at the fair, but you get the idea. I also greatly enjoyed observing the little baby chicks shuffle around their box trying to find the best spot under the lamp. Those things are cute.

The highlight of the week, though, hands down, came last night. And it came in the form of a 51-33 BIG FAT TENNESSEE VICTORY over the Dawgs. "Rocky Top, you'll always be...Home Sweet Home to me...Good ole Rocky Top...Rocky Top Tennessee....ROCKY TOP TENNESSEE!" GO VOLS!!!

Oh yes, victory is so sweet...especially when you're in the company of 75,000 Georgia fans!

Okay, so the family are all TN fans. I will ONLY convert if my sweet boys go there...and then, and only then, will I be the biggest Volunteer fan alive.

Thought I'd throw my two cents in there.

I'll hand it to you. The Vols won fair and square. As a Dawg fan it sure was hard to watch them blow a 24-7 lead. The TN fans were very gracious though unlike obnoxious Florida fans...do we at least have a mutual hate for the gators?

Go Dawgs! I'm still loyal.

Yes, Andrea, we do have a mutual hate for the Gators...that is something we can absolutely agree on!!! And I will be pulling for the Dawgs in that game :)

Mandy, how about what Capt. B. said? What is it you told me on that flight back from NYC????

Oh, that is so true! Just say it with confidence, and people will believe. I forgot about that NYC moment :) "Jet streams!"
