Since Wednesday

I last updated on Wednesday. So, what all has happened in my life since then?
  • I have purchased 1 1/2 tanks of gas.
  • I visited family for the Labor Day weekend.
  • I bought a few groceries.
  • I went to church.
  • I interviewed for, was offered and accepted a first grade teaching position set to begin September 18, and consequently have given my notice after seven years at my current job.
You know, the regular ole stuff...groceries, major life decisions, and whatnot.

Congradulations on the new job. "movin on up" is always a good thing.

You're hilarious!

Whatever, Amy J! I always knew you were a schemer! ;)

Mandy couldn't succumb to the pressure anymore. She was tired of having to hear "teacher talk" around the dinner table on Wednesdays, so she caved. (I need to start condensing my comments, huh?)

I know Shannon! I am the only non-teaching unit left!I am the Wednesday night misfit!
Seriously though. I think it is great for Mandy, in more ways than one! Seriously.

you still heading to Acapulco, though? I hear the men in the speedoes are quite the eye candy....

I was just thinking about all the ones in our family who have been educators...starting with your g/grandfather who taught college. His son John taught at Weatherford Teachers College in TX, and several of my Uncle J's daughters taught. That is just to name a few in a long line of dedicated professionals who inspire us even today.
I know you will be a great teacher. I watch your interaction with your neices and nephews and also the children at the orphanage. You relate so well.
Love you.

Does anyone else think it humorous that Mandy's mom got to read the speedos- eye candy comment? Love you Mrs. Mary!

Mandy-
You are definitely correct! Stephen was on TV...and the defeat of CAL was AWESOME!! We are playing Air Force this week.

Mandy's mom has not only read the speedo comment, she's seen those Acapulco speedo guys up close and personally and I'm sure she would agree with me that "eye-candy" is, um, not exactly accurate.

Right on Miss Willa!! Now you put Beautiful John in a speedo and it is a different story. Beautiful John gives a whole new meaning to "eye candy". Hi Joanna...missed you in Acapulco this summer. Just don't go off and marry some 5 star general. :}

Love you too, Brunswick!! How are those boys (including Mitch)?

They are great! Getting big very fast. We are coming up your way to see Katie's new house (skyline heights) this weekend. I hope you all are doing great.
I can only imagine that I would agree with Miss Willa. I guess, like with so many things in life, you get the good with the bad in the speedo department!
Tell Mr. Lawton I said hello! I always think of him when I see a certain local newscaster that could be his twin!

I could have my own blog, but it would not be nearly so much fun. I am quite busy these days, but I can't compete with young moms and career gals. You have to have kids and/or a job to have anything interesting to write about.
Jenn...thanks for the update.
Mandi...hope to see you tomorrow a.m. for Bible Study.
