The Braidy Bunch Is Back

All is well here in Acapulco. Yesterday was a really great day to relax and prepare for the week. The power went out sometime in the middle of the night Saturday night, so our AC, which can only be used at night, was OFF all night. I woke up around 2 am in a cess pool of my sweat (do you have the visual? huh? it was pretty bad...) Anyhoo, church on Sunday was extra fabulous, because it was nice and cool. Church here really is amazing (not just because of the AC.) After church, we went to the beach with the kids. And, yes, I broke down and got the braids, Joanna. It is just part of the experience, and really gives the pictures a little something extra I think. Plus, my hair was getting pretty big from the humidity.

Today we began construction work. We are taking down the "library" and a wall. The wall we took down last year now has a foundation covering it, and we are moving rocks out of the place where we put them all last year. Gotta love that.

In a few hours we will have our first night of VBS with the kids. This will be our schedule tomorrow and Friday as well. Wednesday we will have a day off, and on Thursday half of us will be at Sobre el Puente (the street kids´ ministry) for the morning, while half will follow this same schedule.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! Will update more tomorrow!

Too bad you can't post a before aand after visual of the hair, but good to hear from you anyway! You are doing way more blogging than I thought you would--keep it up!

Sad news Mandy--Casey's mom died at 1:30 this morning (it's Tuesday). She had knee surgery and ended up with major complications. I don't know if there's any way you can get in touch with Casey, since she is moving Thursday and her computer's probably packed up, but I thought you should know. The funeral is on Saturday--I don't think you'll be back by then???? Let me know if you want me to pass along a message to her.
