This might become a new theme. Maybe I should bring back Things I Love Thursday, too.
Meet John Cena. He is a preschooler that also goes by his given name, but for the sake of this post, we will call him by his alias.. He much prefers John Cena, and requested we call him that for the entire first month of school. I often catch John off in a corner of the room, practicing his Kung Fu moves. When he realizes I am watching, he just smiles and goes on his merry way.
During our work time, I will sometimes ask John what he is doing. He normally just smiles and says "nada!" And when I ask him what he should be doing, he smiles and says "nada!"
One day he asked Marian, another teacher in the room, if it is hard being a magician. She said probably so, yes. And John said, "I think so, too. I say ABRACADABRA every day, and nothing happens!"
To begin our mornings, we have a calendar time during which we pray and sing a few praise songs. John wants nothing to do with the "girly" motions we do during the songs, and instead plays a mean air guitar.
John Cena: just one of the many reasons I love teaching preschool.
