Still Looking for Sour Cream and Onion Lays

There are certain things I assumed I would have to give up for a few years of my life when I made the move to Mexico. I was not sure what types of food would be available to me here. I knew the sacrifices wouldn't be extreme like some missionaries who have to give up indoor plumbing or . . . soap. But, I knew things here wouldn't be the same as home.

So, my first trip shopping at my local grocery store found me without several items I am very fond of. Sour Cream and Onion chips. Diet Dr. Pepper (and regular Dr. Pepper.) And, the biggest disappointment--Coffeemate Creamer of the liquid variety. I have spent 41 days putting milk in my coffee. Not that I'm counting or anything.

But, today. Today! I meandered into the dairy section to pick up butter and cheese and then. Oh, then. The clouds parted and the heavens opened and the angels sang the Hallelujah Chorus. Because, my eyes drifted to the top shelf and I spotted the most beautiful blue bottle I have ever seen.

And, because the Comercial Mexicana realizes it is Christmas, they also put some Diet Dr. Pepper (and regular Dr. Pepper!) in the soft drink aisle.

Life is good, indeed.
