Update Letter

Just over a year ago, I was approved by Mission to the World (MTW) to serve in Acapulco, MX for 2 years. The past year has been full of new experiences and opportunities!

Last fall, I began my first year teaching as a 1st grade teacher. I enjoyed my time there very much and am so thankful the doors were opened for me to have a year of teaching here in the States before I begin teaching in Mexico.

I have had several opportunities to present the ministry in Acapulco during missions conferences and missions committee meetings. Many have expressed a desire to support the work in prayer, for which I am so thankful. A benefit lunch was also held in September and the money raised completed my “one-time” financial needs.

In early June, I attended Living in Grace, a one-week training required by MTW. It was an amazing week of reflecting on the Gospel and the overwhelming love, grace and mercy of God.

September 24 through October 12 I traveled to Colorado Springs, CO, for SPLICE, my pre-field training facilitated by Missions Training International. Among other topics, we spent the three weeks preparing for living and working in cross-cultural environments, learning ways to stay spiritually vital, and tips for dealing with culture shock.

All along the way, I have received support, prayer and encouragement from you. It is exciting to partner with you to minister to the children of Acapulco. Thank you for your support. I appreciate so much your willingness to sacrifice your time and resources to assist me in answering God’s call to serve Him in Mexico. May you have a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Prayer Requests:

Thanksgiving-For the support that has been received and pledged.
One-time Expenses needed: $14,693 received: 100%
Monthly Expenses needed: $2,699 received: 31%

Thanksgiving-For the blessing of spending this time with family to celebrate Christmas and birthdays.

Support-Pray that the remaining monthly needs will be provided quickly so I can leave for the field.

By His Grace,

Mandy
