Preparing for the Houston Sprint

Yes, I finally truly believe I have gone insane. Today at church my friend Amy and I were discussing the topic of running and how we would like to be able to run, say, more than 1/4 of 1 mile without calling for an oxygen tank or well, falling over in exhaustion. So, we have decided to bite the bullet and begin a full-blown exercise program. Complete with a runnning plan pulled off the web by her husband. The grand plan? Be able to run a 5K by October. Insanity. What have I signed myself up for?

Update! I'm still alive after day one of the program. Of course, all I had to do today was walk for 15 minutes. But Nike.com promises that if I follow their training outline, I will be running for a sustained 30 minutes by March 27. And all I had to do today was walk for 15. I don't know how they plan on making that work, but I was all over today's workout.
