Did I sleep through the 90s? It is actually pretty sad how little I really know about my decade.
Last night I joined with a group of friends for a cookout and game night. We had a guys vs. girls 90s Trivial Pursuit battle. We tried to save face, us girls, by entering the spin zone. We are not of the world, therefore, we cannot be bothered by such trivial worldly things as knowing when major league soccer began or what the human genome project is. But, deep down, I have to face the truth. I can remember worthless trivia that I want to remember. The exact percentage off a sweater I found on sale a year ago. Song lyrics to a thousand different songs. The personal lives of 30 various celebrities.
So this leads me to the inevitable question. If we used our brains for learning and remembering the important stuff...stuff that matters...how different would this world be?
More boring? I think so, too. Carry on.
